papercrete, fibercrete, fibrous concrete - Living in Paper: “In the United States, we discard enough paper each year to build a wall 48 feet high around the entire perimeter of the country. Even though about 45 percent of discarded paper is recycled annually, 55 percent or 48 million tons of paper is thrown away or goes into the landfills. Figuring conservatively, it takes about fifteen trees to make a ton of paper. That means that 720 million trees are used once and then buried in a landfill each year. We are experimenting with ways to turn this prodigious amount of waste into low-cost, high-value sustainable housing. “

Haven’t used QC yet but intend on having a play, sounds like you are reaching the limits of the software though with your wishlist.
One thing I will say is that, although I say I haven’t played with QC yet, the idea of a Z plane is not a new one in 3D graphics. I agree it gets confusing because if its anything like OpenGL you have to work/switch between real world and relative co-ordinate systems fairly regularly.
In the next few weeks Im going to have to be putting my OpenGL hat back on for a 4th year project (deformation of granular surfaces… groan!) but will happily give you some pointers in 3D once i get back into the swing of it if you’d like.
